TIPTON TOWN TAKE LSPL CLUB OF THE YEAR AWARD .jpg) Birmingham County FA First Division Runners-Up Tipton Town Ladies were invited to Old Trafford to watch the Lucozade Sport Performance League winners Drumchapel United playing Most Improved Team winners Oakwood F.C. We assumed all of the teams in the LSPL would be there, but when we arrived, we literally had the place to ourselves. After the match, Tipton Town Ladies were shocked to be presented with the LSPL Club of the Year award and Kiren Rana was presented with her Golden Boot Trophy, after fending off stiff competition from the other 800+ hopefuls in the league. We also had an amazing treat of being in the presence of the Barclays Premiership Trophy. On top of gaining promotion to the Premier Division, this has certainly topped off an amazing year, and we can’t thank the LSPL enough for making us feel more like a premiership club. Tipton Town Ladies F.C was fortunate to be part of the first ever Lucozade Sport Performance League this season, pitting their results on the pitch against 80 other men’s and women’s teams from all over the country. They had been the strongest women’s squad overall, narrowly missing out on the top spot and finishing a respectable 6th when it all came to a close at the end of the season.
The folks at LSPL invited Tipton Town Ladies to Old Trafford to watch the Lucozade Sport Performance League winners Drumchapel United playing Most Improved Team winners Oakwood F.C., We assumed all of the teams in the LSPL would be there, but when we arrived, we literally had the place to ourselves. This was an amazing treat as Kiren Rana, Sarah Grove, and Kayleigh Turner are all avid Manchester United fans. When we arrived, we could sit literally anywhere in the 75000+ seats and a few of the ladies even sat in Sir Alex Ferguson’s chair in the dug out. The match was fantastic, both teams really fought hard, we were told if we had of hung on to the top spot, it would of been us playing at the 'Theatre Of Dreams’. The official Manchester United match commentator Alan Keegan read out all the names of our squad names and even interviewed "The Gaffer" Faye Harrison at half time. After the match, we were treated to some food and drink with the two teams who had played. Then after a few words from the organizers, we were shocked to be presented with the LSPL Club of the Year award and shortly after Kiren Rana was presented with her Golden Boot Trophy, after fending off stiff competition from the other 800+ hopefuls in the league. Kiren has had an amazing season this year, scoring a phenomenal Eight hat trick's and netting 30 goals in 21 appearances, despite a mid season break to India, who knows what she could have achieved if she had played for the whole season. We also had an amazing treat of being in the presence of the Barclays Premiership Trophy. On top of gaining promotion to the Premier Division, this has certainly topped off an amazing year, and we can’t thank the LSPL enough for making us feel more like a premiership club.
